Modern Times Theater presents “The City”, a toy theater play based on the fairy tale by Hermann Hesse.

In twenty minutes, you will see one thousand years in the history of a civilization.  In vivid cardboard technicolor, you will see the development of an agrarian society.  With little more than trash and toys, you will see the glorious arrival of the urban world. And in our miniscule stage of wonder, you will see the collapse of a great society.  The droll superintendents of this production are none other than Punch and Judy, puppetry’s favorite jerk and his loudmouth wife.  Never before has such an epic drama been revealed in such pint-sized proportions!

Also featuring the sweet sounds of the Plank House band, a cornet and cigar-box ukulele duo specializing in classic novelty tunes of the 1920's.

Modern Times Theater will be performing with the Dolly Wagglers and Over a Cardboard Sea on Friday, January 14th at 8pm at the Langdon Street Cafe in Montpelier. Don't miss this boatload of bologna!

We will be performing in downtown Plymouth on Saturday, February 19th. Details to come.

Big Cheap Art Who-Ha

The "Cheap Art Isn't Dead, It just Smells Funnny" $5 art exhibit opens on Friday February Fifth, at the Flynn Dog in Burlington. A diverse group of cheap artists will be displaying their junk there for two months. Everything is Five Bucks! We'll also be doing a Cafe Des Cheap Artistes there on March Fifth.
The Jolly Banker can be seen on Friday February 12th in Bellows Falls at the Mud Time Friday Night Free Theater, with special guests, The Plank House Band.
